Richard Hathaway is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

With more than four decades of experience in the financial services industry, Richard serves multigenerational ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners, foundations and institutions.

Richard takes a highly individualized approach to each relationship, assisting clients in defining their financial goals and striving to understand their tolerance for risk. He leverages the breadth of J.P. Morgan's resources, including comprehensive wealth advisory guidance, alternative investments and portfolio management, to deliver suitable strategies focused on conservative growth and capital preservation that help them pursue their distinct objectives.

The experience Richard has acquired through several market cycles is vital to his process of building tailored portfolios that emphasize asset protection, long-term growth and low volatility. He calls on the array of financial service professionals at J.P. Morgan to help address his clients' needs for investments, trust and estate planning, private banking, philanthropy, mortgage and credit services.

Richard began his career at Blyth, Eastman Dillon and other established firms before joining Bear Stearns and becoming a Limited Partner and Managing Director early in his career. He transitioned to his current role in 2008.

Richard graduated from Roanoke College, earning a B.B.A. in Economics. He is a Trustee of the College and sits on the Finance Committee. He also serves on the board of the Family Enterprise Institute at Kennesaw State University.

Richard and his wife live in the Atlanta area and have two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis.
