About Michael
Michael Podkulski holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, which he earned in 2004. As a partner of The Alison | Jenkins | Podkulski Group, he specializes in providing wealth management services to institutions and individuals. Michael leverages the firm's array of planning and money management resources to create asset allocation strategies and to implement customized investment strategies for them.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Michael began his passion for the markets when he read stock tables as a child. After college, he had roles as a business and marketing analyst with a major consumer bank. He was promoted to a management position to provide financial training and education to the bank's credit card division. His planning and strategic responsibilities draw on those skills, including a consultative approach to determine client needs, then guiding his clients through the investment process to pursue their financial objectives. He thoroughly explains the overall strategic plan, creates portfolios and regularly reviews their total situations, making necessary adjustments driven by changes in their financial pictures or market dynamics.
Michael began his financial services career at MBNA (1994–1998). Seeking a position more directly involved in the securities markets, he joined Paine Webber (now UBS) from 1998 to 2011, where he met and worked with some of his current team members. He transitioned with them in 2011 to J.P. Morgan.
Michael grew up in South Windsor, Connecticut, and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Political Science. He now lives in Atlanta, where he likes to run and play soccer, a sport he also coaches. Michael enjoys spending time with his family, reading and traveling.
