About Michael
Michael Winter is a Managing Director and a Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As co-founder of The Winter-Fish Group, he manages and tailors portfolios for high-net-worth individuals. Michael also serves many of the largest asset management, regional banks and hedge funds in Boston by providing fixed income execution and strategic research services to analysts. In addition, Michael facilitates complex transactions for senior corporate executives, among which are derivatives, 10b5-1 stock programs and corporate stock buybacks.
In the span of more than 40 years of Michael's career in financial services, he has earned a solid reputation for providing innovative and customized strategies to fit the particular needs of the clients he serves. As a former Registered Options Principal and Regional Sales Manager in New York, he has deep experience in implementing sophisticated financial strategies. By leveraging both his background and J.P. Morgan's industry leading platform, Michael can provide his clients significant access to the firm's thought leadership, trade execution and investment services.
Michael's investment management career began in college, when he worked at State Street Bank's co-op program. From 1974 to 1985, he held investment positions at Merrill Lynch, and management positions at Shearson Haydon Stone (now Morgan Stanley) and Paine Webber (now UBS), subsequently joining Bear Stearns and Company as a Senior Managing Director of Investments. He transitioned to his current role at J.P. Morgan in 2010.
A Boston native, Michael graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration, and lives in Brookline with his wife, Deborah, a former Chairman of the Board of Selectmen in Brookline. He is fortunate that his four adult children live nearby. In his spare time, Michael enjoys golf, skiing and bicycling. He serves on the boards of Jewish Vocational Services and Adoptions with Love. Previously, Michael was a board member for the Museum of Science, Children's Hospital, Northeastern University's Family Business Center, and Jewish Big Brothers.
