Michael's investment management career began in college, when he worked at State Street Bank's co-op program. From 1974 to 1985, he held investment positions at Merrill Lynch, and management positions at Shearson Haydon Stone (now Morgan Stanley) and Paine Webber (now UBS), subsequently joining Bear Stearns and Company as a Senior Managing Director of Investments. He transitioned to his current role at J.P. Morgan in 2010.
A Boston native, Michael graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Business Administration, and lives in Brookline with his wife, Deborah, a former Chairman of the Board of Selectmen in Brookline. He is fortunate that his four adult children live nearby. In his spare time, Michael enjoys golf, skiing and bicycling. He serves on the boards of Jewish Vocational Services and Adoptions with Love.
