About James
James Jacob is a Managing Director with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. James focuses on three distinct lines of business:
Institutional Fixed Income
James' fixed income business serves Registered Investment Advisors, insurance companies and banks seeking a fixed income generalist approach across a broad array of asset classes and geographic markets.
Corporate Client Services
James' corporate clients are public and private corporations and their executives. Some of the services James provides to these clients are:
- Equity compensation plan recordkeeping and administration
- Deferred compensation plans
- Retirement plans
- Hedging and monetization strategies for executives and corporations
- Security buyback strategies for corporations
- Cash management services
Private Client Services
James' private clients include corporate executives, professionals and family offices. James employs the breadth of J.P. Morgan's services. In addition to traditional investment advice, James can assist clients with:
- Tailored lending strategies
- Concierge banking services
- Foreign exchange services
- Alternative investments
With over 38 years of investment experience, James brings his understanding of the marketplace to his clients. Most of James' client base has remained loyal for over 20 years. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in early 2010, James was a Senior Vice President and Director's Council member at Citi Smith Barney for 21 years, serving both in the Institutional Fixed Income Group and the Corporate Client Group. Prior to that, James served as Senior Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert (1987–1989), and at Johnston, Lemon and Company (1980–1987).
James is a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, an industry trade group for equity compensation plan managers. James holds the Series 24,7, 65, 3 and state registrations in all 50 states. James is a Futures Commission Merchant Associate (Series 3), and holds a Virginia Insurance license.
In his personal life, James is the past President of the Alexandria Library Company, which was founded by George Washington; past Chair, Leadership Giving at St. Stephens and St. Agnes School; past vestryman, St. Paul's Church; and founding board member, Alexandria Red Cross Waterfront Festival. Additionally, James is a national and international championship yacht racer. He has also coached youth lacrosse. James, his wife, Barbara, and two children, reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
