About Sam
Sam Hodgson is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Sam draws on more than 30 years of experience to guide high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in weighing their opportunities and pursuing their aspirations more effectively. He leads a high performing team committed to the same mission: putting clients' interests first. Wealth creators from varied paths seek Sam's guidance. Many are business owners, entrepreneurs, and senior executives. Others have created their own path to wealth. To each of these relationships, Sam brings intensive personalization and an unwavering commitment to service, demonstrating each client's value and importance.
Sam and his team look to be the first call that clients make for all of their financial needs. They serve as a single source for integrated wealth management, including long-term planning, concentrated stock strategies, pre-liquidity-event planning, portfolio design and execution, higher education savings, and multigenerational wealth transfer. By evaluating each of these areas, Sam is able to identify possible gaps and uncover potential efficiencies, resulting in a more cohesive whole.
As a team that spans generations, Sam and his colleagues look to serve as a steady presence in clients' lives for decades to come, from matriarchs and patriarchs through Gen Z. Clients, in turn, look to Sam as a trustworthy guide who can help them navigate the complexities of their financial lives. Sam relates that he feels tremendous enthusiasm for his role. He comes to work every day eager to help clients advance the lives and legacies they envision.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023, Sam spent more than five years with First Republic Investment Management, where he was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager. He began his financial services career in 1991 with Merrill Lynch, where he served for more than 27 years and was a Managing Director and Wealth Management Advisor. Sam earned his B.A. from Middlebury College.
In his free time, Sam loves to play golf and travel.
