About Patrick
Patrick Murphy is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
A longtime member of The Reiser Wealth Management Group, he delivers tailored financial plans for the team's diverse array of clients and their families.
With a penchant for building strong connections, Patrick serves as a champion to help clients pursue the life goals that are most meaningful to them— education funding, vacations, second homes and more. He delivers a holistic approach that is conservative and grounded in transparency and discipline. Patrick blends his consulting capabilities and planning background to explore potential opportunities and trade-offs. He collaborates alongside clients' attorneys and accountants to help ensure that all recommendations align with the entirety of each individualized scenario.
Patrick's nine years of experience in wealth management follow a 20-year career in marketing, advertising and business development, where he directed large client engagements with iconic brands such as AT&T, American Express, Barnes & Noble, Prudential Insurance and Quaker Oats.
From 2006 to 2010, Patrick was the Head of New York City's Fashion/Retail Strategic Initiatives at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, a position established by Mayor Bloomberg to support one of the largest industries in NYC. During his tenure, he led and executed a number of mayoral initiatives—the move of biannual Fashion Week to Lincoln Center, creation of the NYC Fashion Incubator to support high-potential young talent, and Fashion.NYC.2020, a long-term strategic plan for the industry, chaired by Terry Lundgren and Diane von Furstenberg.
Seeking a more client-facing experience, Patrick joined The Reiser Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2010 to focus on wealth management for pension plans, endowments and individuals. Together with his team, he joined J.P. Morgan in 2018 to offer clients the quality research and fortress balance sheet of one of the most renowned financial companies in the world. Born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, Patrick is a graduate of the Moses Brown School and received a B.S. in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross.
He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation, which empowers him to develop wealth management strategies that target short- and long-term goals.
Patrick resides in New York City and is active in a variety of community organizations. He plays a leadership role as a member of the boards of directors for the following:
>> Vice-Chair and Chairman of the Development Committee for Carter Burden Network, whose mission is to "promote the well-being of seniors 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy, arts, culture and volunteer programs"
