About Joseph

Joe is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

As a co-founder of The Barnes Chung Lally Group, Joe serves as the team's portfolio manager, a responsibility that he shares with his father, J. Joseph Lally. Joe oversees the team's core equity growth portfolio—a proprietary investment program with a long-term track record. He also directs the team's trading and execution, including any investments that lie outside the core equity portfolio. With more than three decades of investment experience, Joe offers the knowledge and technical insight to support clients' investment objectives.

Highly selective in his methodology, Joe seeks to identify a group of companies that can grow and maintain that growth over a period of years—typically, a 3-to-5-year horizon. To advance this goal, he spends significant time in research and analysis, winnowing a large field of potential investments into a high-conviction core. Joe believes that his success derives in part from his ability to examine a company's fundamentals, "breaking down what makes a company tick." He offers a tax-sensitive perspective that incorporates a client's risk parameters and liquidity constraints. A disciplined long-term investor, Joe is proud to have contributed to clients' abilities to pursue their goals more effectively through the team's investment offerings.

Prior to moving to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management with his team in 2023, Joe spent four years with First Republic Private Wealth Management, where he was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager. Earlier, he was a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at UBS Financial Services, where he worked for more than 22 years. He began his investment career in 1996, after earning his B.S. in Finance and his B.A. in Economics from Boston College.

Within his community, Joe and his wife, Amy, are active in Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Pacific Palisades. They are proud of their three children, who keep them busy with their sports and activities. In his free hours, Joe likes to hike and ski.
