About David
David Amar is a Wealth Partner and Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As the leader of The Amar Group, David works with a limited number of successful individuals and families, supporting their efforts to grow, preserve and transfer their wealth more effectively. He draws on more than 30 years of experience, offering the knowledge he has gained from advising an accomplished clientele.
Clients throughout the United States look to David and his team for their ability to navigate the complexities that substantial wealth can pose. The team’s relationships are deep, supporting a select group of clients in gaining a more purposeful direction for their finances. Clients include wealth creators, senior executives, entrepreneurs, family offices, foundations, sports executives and entertainment professionals. To each of these relationships, David serves as a trusted guide, helping clients weigh decisions, capitalize on opportunities and take steady action in nurturing their aspirations.
Prior to re-joining J.P. Morgan, David was a Partner at William Blair, where he served for more than six years. His experience also includes six years at Merrill Lynch, where he was a Managing Director, and more than ten years with J.P. Morgan, where he was also a Managing Director and Head of the Atlanta office for the Private Bank. David began his career in 1996 at Arthur Andersen.
David earned his B.S. from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He formerly practiced as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Committed to giving back, David is a long-time Board Member of ImpactIsrael, which sponsors a residential high school atop Mount Carmel that provides a home, education and emotional support for atrisk youth from around the world. Previously, he served for ten years on the Board of Goodwill Industries International.
David is married and has three sons. In his free time, he enjoys golf and skiing. A barbecue enthusiast, he and his sons have been known to keep nighttime vigils by the smoker.
