About William
Bill Desser is a Wealth Partner and Vice Chairman with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As the principal of The Desser Group, he manages a team that serves an array of clients including entrepreneurs, corporate executives, entertainment industry professionals and athletes. Bill applies a holistic approach coordinating a variety of wealth management services. He takes pride in carefully listening to his clients' concerns, ascertaining their goals and then designing a disciplined, comprehensive wealth management strategy to help achieve them.
Bill has over 30 years of financial services industry experience, and took an interest in investments in early childhood, when his grandfather taught him the basic principles of investing. Bill worked with the Los Angeles Lakers Coaching Staff, under the tutelage of Pat Riley, in the 1980s. He credits his years of creating and managing portfolios, his experience through three NBA championships, and the vast array of J.P. Morgan's services and resources for his successes. The complex nature of his clients' wealth management issues demands a high level of customization, and Bill relies on the firm's award-winning research1, tactical asset allocation and macro-guided investment strategies to create a strategic portfolio designed to help his clients arrive at their financial objectives.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan's predecessor firm, Bear Stearns in 1988, Bill served as a financial advisor for Pollock Financial from 1986-1988.
Bill graduated magna cum laude from University of California at Los Angeles with a B.S. in Economics. An active community member, he has served as a board member for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the V Foundation and is active with various scholarship funds. A member of the Brentwood Country Club, he enjoys golf and tennis and spending time with his wife and two children.
