About Paul
Paul Baker is an Executive Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Paul collaborates with individuals, families, business owners, executives and financial services professionals seeking guidance that links investment decisions with spending needs and long-term objectives. Drawing on a background that spans investment management, treasury and liquidity strategy and institutional advisory work, he helps clients align portfolio decisions with both current priorities and future goals. By integrating investment guidance with broader wealth planning considerations, Paul supports clients as they address complex financial challenges and evaluate financial decisions within the context of their overall objectives.
A calm and steady presence for clients, Paul serves as a trusted decision-making partner during periods of change, whether clients are navigating market volatility, major life transitions or significant financial events. He takes time to understand each client’s objectives, spending needs, balance sheet considerations and personal priorities before discussing potential strategies. Motivated by the relationships he builds, Paul enjoys helping clients simplify complexity, maintain a long-term perspective and consider how different aspects of their financial lives fit together.
Bringing a disciplined approach to portfolio management, Paul emphasizes asset allocation, diversification and ongoing portfolio reviews while incorporating spending, reserve and planning considerations into the broader wealth management process. When estate planning or generational transfer considerations arise, he collaborates closely with clients’ attorneys, CPAs and other trusted professionals to support a coordinated planning process. He also draws on experience advising institutional clients on treasury and liquidity strategy, helping clients think more broadly about how their assets, resources and long-term priorities fit together.
Paul joined J.P. Morgan in 2013. Over the course of his career, he has held roles across Commercial & Investment Banking and Global Liquidity Solutions, where he led the team advising healthcare, higher education, nonprofit, government and middle-market clients on liquidity management. This experience provides him with a broad perspective on balance sheet management, strategic planning and complex financial decision-making. He earned a B.S.B. in Finance from Miami University and holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
Paul resides in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife, Lauren, and their three sons, Beckett, Keegan and Brenton. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, cheering on his favorite sports teams and spending time with his family. He also participates in the J.P. Morgan Global Mentoring Program and looks forward to coaching youth sports as his sons get older.
