About Lauren

Lauren DeVries Shields is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

With a decade of professional experience, Lauren has strategically built a background in credit risk, lending, corporate finance and analysis and other areas of financial and banking services. She brings the full complement of her skillset for the benefit of high-net-worth individuals and families. Lauren's strengths include constructing portfolios to drive returns throughout the economic cycle while managing liquidity needs. Known for her empathetic and caring manner, her motto is populus primus, which is Latin for "people first."

Lauren earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Florida. She has spent the majority of her career at J.P. Morgan, beginning in the firm's credit risk leadership program. She then gained additional experience with mortgage, wealth planning and treasury management roles before pivoting to wealth management.

Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Lauren's professional journey has brought her to New York City, Columbus, Austin, Chicago and Dallas. She thinks of Texas as her forever home and has built deep ties in the area.

Lauren is a Member of the 2023 Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy program at Communities Foundation of Texas. This initiative seeks to educate, engage, and broaden the philanthropic impact of the next generation of leaders in North Texas. She is also a volunteer with WiNGS for Women and Families, whose motto is "Empower Women. Fight Poverty. Impact Generations."

Outside of the office, Lauren and her husband love to go boating at their house on Possum Kingdom Lake with family and friends. When home in Dallas, Lauren enjoys Pilates, trying new restaurants and taking her two dogs on the Katy Trail for walks.
