About Brad
Brad Thompson is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Brad is the lead manager of The MTN Group’s endowments and foundations practice and co-leads the Group’s alternative investments activities. He also serves as the Group’s managing partner, using a teamof-teams approach that MTN has honed for a decade. Brad has been a Portfolio Manager in the J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Portfolio Manager Program since 2009 and is a voting member of The MTN Group Investment Committee.
Brad began his investment career in 1996 in client-facing and management roles at American Express Company before joining Merrill Lynch in 2005. While at Merrill, he developed customized fixed-income management strategies for the Qualified Intermediary Industry and cofounded The MTN Group. The Group has been named a Top DC Advisor team in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025 by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).1 Brad sits on the Wealth Partners’ Advisory Council, working directly with senior leadership of J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Brad earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Government, History and Latin American Studies and is an alumnus of Southern Methodist University’s Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. Brad is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). He also sits on the Wealth Partners’ Advisory Council, working directly with senior leadership of J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Brad is a loving husband and father of four children. His commitment to family extends seamlessly into his relationships with clients and colleagues.
