About Christopher
Christopher Sheets is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a co-founder of The SGH Group, Chris offers extensive experience in the capital markets—particularly alternative and private investments—as well as wealth structuring and pre-liquidity-event planning. He provides high-net-worth clients with tailored advice to resolve the complexities and capitalize on the opportunities of significant wealth.
Clients look to Chris for integrated wealth strategy and advice, encompassing investing, planning, and next-generation wealth transfer. He works in concert with his team's partners, who bring a similar depth of acumen and experience to each client family. Chris employs a thorough due diligence process, discerning clients' objectives, time horizons, risk tolerance and tax situation and designs asset allocations that reflect those parameters. He believes the firm's access to alternative and private investments can be instrumental in helping to pursue enhanced risk-adjusted returns. Chris has a particular affinity for advising business owners before, during and after a possible sale, helping them better position their enterprise and designing a reliable cash flow to support their lifestyle needs.
A graduate of the University of Colorado, Chris holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Leeds School of Business, where he majored in International Business and Marketing, with a minor in Economics. As an undergraduate, he studied abroad with Semester at Sea, a shipboard program that kindled his enduring fascination for international markets, global travel and life on the water.
For the first 10 years of his professional life, Chris held multiple business development roles, working for both J & J Industries and one of the portfolio companies of Berkshire Hathaway. Since 2001, he has served as a Financial Advisor, most recently at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, where he was a Principal within the Senior Investment Advisors Group. Chris joined J.P. Morgan in 2018.
Chris supports SpringSpirit in Houston, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through education, sports and ministry. He is also active with Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and Sandalwood Civic Club, where he is a long-time Board Member, as well as Secretary of the Land Committee and Head of the Sandalwood Capital Improvement Committee.
A resident of Houston, Chris and his wife, Julie, have two sons, Cameron and Sean. He shares his lifelong love of boating with his family, spending time at their weekend home on Lake McQueeney.
