About Robert

Robert Thorburn is an Executive Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

He provides wealth management and portfolio management services for a select group of successful individuals, families, corporate executives, small business owners and institutions.

Robert is dedicated to preserving clients' wealth and managing risk. He takes a comprehensive approach to investing by reviewing each client's specific needs in regards to personal banking, philanthropic and estate planning, wealth transfer and lending. He prides himself on his ability to simplify complex financial matters, helping to relieve the financial stress that comes along with success.

Robert gives his clients the ability to fully focus on what they do best, while implementing a defined process by which he works with each client. He uses the knowledge he has gained from his accounting, institutional trading, and entrepreneurial background in conjunction with the strategies and award-winning research, investment professionals, and resources available at J.P. Morgan to help his clients reach their goals.

Robert has over 20 years of experience in financial services and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2014, he worked at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor, at Ensemble Financial, and DLJ/Credit Suisse.

Robert is a native New Yorker, went to Xavier High School in Manhattan and graduated from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Accounting. He is currently Co-Chair of the Xavier High School Business Council.

Robert enjoys playing squash at the University Club, fishing at the Belmar Fishing Club and coaching little league. He and his wife, Colleen, reside in Westfield, NJ with their two young sons.
