About Annemarie von der Goltz
Annemarie von der Goltz is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a founding member of SVDG Partners, Annemarie is dedicated to protecting, growing and transferring clients' wealth. She advises a diverse and accomplished client base that includes private business owners, C-suite executives, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth families.
Annemarie's background in alternative investments inspired her to change from a lens singularly focused on hedge funds and private equity to one that encompasses the bigger picture. She considers the entirety of each individual's financial goals—investment requirements, trust & estate objectives, philanthropy, education and retirement objectives— when crafting her recommendations. One of Annemarie's main priorities is to speak the same financial "language" as her clients, an essential building block for developing lasting relationships. Her strength lies in the integration of the many qualitative details that form the basis of a comprehensive plan.
With a steadfast desire to stand as an advocate for clients and deliver sound guidance, Annemarie and her business partner, Doug Sonnenshein, established SVDG Partners in 2011. Together, they have gained firsthand entrepreneurial insight, and are proud to have built their team from the ground up in a manner that aligns with their aspirations and ethics.
Annemarie began her career at a boutique hedge fund in Boston, performing portfolio analysis. Eventually, she moved on to spearheading client relations for two separate private equity funds. These experiences informed Annemarie's market perspective and investment thesis, and drove her to pursue an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Upon graduation and the completion of an internship with the Private Wealth Management division at Goldman Sachs in Miami, Annemarie was recruited by several firms and joined the Credit Suisse Private Bank in New York where she remained for five years. She has been at J.P. Morgan since 2016, drawn to the freedom and flexibility of the firm's open- architecture platform. Annemarie holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation, one of the most respected wealth management certifications in the industry. She utilizes this knowledge while working with clients to formulate customized strategies for pursuing short- and long-term goals.
Annemarie is an alumna of St. Paul's School in New Hampshire and attended Yale University, where she was a member of the crew team and earned a B.A. in History. She continues to be an active supporter of her alumni organizations.
Fluent in German, Annemarie lives in Manhattan with her husband and two children, where she delights in hosting dinner parties. She travels as much as possible, enjoys wing shooting—her British Lab loves to retrieve—athletic pursuits of all kinds, and is an avid reader, particularly of historical novels.
CFP Board owns the marks CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® in the U.S.
