Glenn S. Degenaars is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, responsible for managing $3 billion of the team's $5 billion in assets.
He brings clients more than 25 years of extensive wealth management experience and a passion for addressing their myriad financial objectives.
As a steward of their wealth and a stakeholder in their success, Glenn is devoted to helping clients. He is dedicated to helping them make informed, forward-looking decisions. In each relationship, he seeks a deep appreciation of clients' visions and values, as well as their financial pictures.
For ultra-high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs facing pre- and post-liquidity decisions, Glenn provides seasoned insights and personal attention. Mindful of the impact of financial decisions on future generations, he points out that short-term benefits must be weighed against future consequences and opportunities. Cognizant of their missions and regulatory guidelines, he takes a holistic, long-term view to help optimize their balance sheets.
Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2023, Glenn was a Senior Wealth Manager and Regional Managing Director at First Republic Investment Management for 13 years. In that role, he specialized in the design and management of equity and balanced portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth. He also served as a member of First Republic's Alternative Investments Committee. Prior to that, Glenn was a Managing Director and Senior Investment Advisor at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management where he was responsible for managing $1.3 billion of private client assets, which included many of the largest and most complex family relationships. In addition to investment management responsibilities, he was a member of Deutsche Bank's Investment Advisory and Trust Investment Committees. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Glenn was a financial analyst focusing on pension plan management at Viacom and Merck and Company.
Glenn holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Delaware. He also completed the Executive Educational Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Generous with his time, Glenn supports several non-profit organizations and the good work they do. Currently, he sits on the Greenwich Historical Society Professional Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Highland Educational Foundation, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the CFA Institute. Glenn and his family reside in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. A former club hockey player, he is now an avid fly fisherman.
