About Michael
Mike Nolan is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. He brings a relationship orientation to his clients, leveraging J.P. Morgan's resources and intellectual capital to provide research, investment advice and execution. The Nolan Group process begins with a thorough understanding of the unique needs and goals of each client. Once gathered, Mike and his Team develop a holistic solution, buttressed by the Firm's thought leadership and investment services.
Mike was born and raised on a farm in Upstate New York, where he learned about small business when he started a vegetable crop operation. He earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University in 1977. Mike worked in marketing and sales for IBM after college, going on to earn an M.B.A. from Columbia University. There, he majored in Finance and Marketing, igniting his passion for investments.
Mike began his Wall Street career with Goldman Sachs in 1982 after which he spent seven years at Morgan Stanley. In 1991 Mike joined Bear Stearns, rising to Senior Managing Director. In 2008, Bear Stearns was acquired by J.P. Morgan, eventually becoming J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. Mike now has 28 years of experience in the combined enterprise, and splits his time between the Nolan Group's New York and Philadelphia office.
Mike and his wife of 37 years, Alexandra, recently relocated to Bryn Mawr, PA where Mike enjoys bicycling, squash, reading, shooting sporting clays and occasionally traveling to his farm in Upstate NY to "play farmer". Mike sits on the Board of Directors of the Hearing Health Foundation and remains an Advisory Board Member of the Ithaca Science Center.
