About David
David Starker is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. He is a member of J.P. Morgan Wealth Management’ Portfolio Manager Program, a select group of advisors who undergo a screening process to manage discretionary client portfolios. Portfolio Managers are subject to on-going quantitative and qualitative reviews to assess each advisor’s investment strategy. An experienced investor, David’s process reflects his extensive knowledge of equities and fixed income and his proficiency with alternative assets. He customizes strategies to suit the needs, risk profile and personality of ultra-high- net-worth clients whose primary focus at this stage in their lives is to grow and preserve their wealth. David displayed an early interest in the financial markets, and chose it as his career path because of the opportunity it held to guide and influence people with their investments. His over 30+ years of experience is founded on his conservative, value-oriented approach to constructing and actively managing tailored portfolios that seek to deliver solid risk-adjusted returns with low volatility. David augments his services by leveraging J.P. Morgan’s industry-leading brand, intellectual capital and resources. Beginning his career in the Private Wealth Management Group at Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1986, David was one of the youngest members of DBL’s President’s Council, and achieved the Quantum Portfolio Manager designation. His time at Drexel Burnham was integral to his interest and expertise in all areas of fixed income. Later in his career, David joined Lehman Brothers as a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. As a Director at Credit-Suisse (2006-2014), David was a member of an elite group with an approved strategy on the firm’s Discretionary Managed Portfolio platform. He was also a member of the USA Advisory Council for Excellence Committee and the President’s Club. In 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018, David was recognized as a Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisor.1 David graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a B.S. in Economics. He holds the FINRA General Securities Series 7 license, the Series 3 Commodities license, and Series 65 Investment Advisor Representatives license. David and his wife, Felisse, live in Armonk with their son, Ryan, daughter, Dylan, and dog, Bailey. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and has been active in coaching youth sports.
