Juan Cocuy is a Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a member of Girard & Associates, Juan advises some of the most prominent individuals, families, doctors, lawyers and other successful professionals in the area, guiding them in retirement approaches, trust and estate strategies and preparing for generational transfer. He leverages his deep roots in South Florida and his knowledge and experience in tax and advisory services to assist clients with their investment management and wealth planning needs across the many elements of their financial world.
Juan's strength lies in his ability to think creatively outside the box to help overcome challenges and help enhance outcomes. He takes pride in delivering the high-quality service his clients deserve and have come to expect.
Throughout a 40-year professional career, Juan has applied a holistic approach to address and meet the needs of his distinguished client base. His attention to detail and responsiveness are the hallmarks of his practice and have earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor. He began his career at Ernst & Young, achieving the senior manager level and providing tax, accounting and advisory services to wealthy individuals, companies, nonprofits and employee benefit plans. Juan then formed the certified public accounting firm, Cocuy, Burns & Co., P.A., which he oversaw for two decades, serving high-networth families, real estate entities, physicians and their medical practices. Most recently, he was at Templeton & Company, a regional accounting and management advisory firm.
Born in Colombia, Juan grew up in West Palm Beach— he is an alumnus of Cardinal Newman High School— and graduated from the University of South Florida, earning a B.A. in Accounting. While in school, he served as president of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. He is committed to his community and gives his time and resources to a number of non-profit organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Juan lives in Jupiter, Florida, taking advantage of its status as the "golf capital of the world." He enjoys a very active lifestyle—he runs, bikes, and loves spending time with his wife, children and two grandchildren.
