About Brett
Brett Berry is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As the founder and leader of The Berry Ospina Team, Brett works closely with a select number of individuals, families and institutions, listening attentively to their priorities and pursuing their objectives through integrated strategy, advice and service. With more than 35 years of investment and wealth management experience, he is intimately familiar with the opportunities and challenges that substantial wealth can pose. Brett looks to uncover underlying efficiencies across the full context of client wealth, working in concert with his team to reduce client stress and make their lives easier and more fulfilling.
Clients look to Brett for seasoned advice and his appreciation for their distinctive circumstances. He specializes in providing creative, thoughtful, taxsensitive investment approaches, with an emphasis on risk mitigation. Brett also has extensive experience in concentrated wealth and diversification strategies. An adherent of financial planning, he supports clients in delineating their wealth-transfer intentions, including trust structuring and family wealth dynamics, as well as their cash-flow needs and liquidity constraints. Brett also works closely with a client's external tax and legal intermediaries, sustaining clear communication and effective collaboration.
Brett joined J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023 and has earned national recognition for his work. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Investment Management, which he joined in 2006. His tenures also include portfolio management positions with U.S. Trust Company and Bailard, Inc., as well as analyst positions with Hughes Investment Management Company and Wilshire Associates. He earned his M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and his B.A. from California State University, Long Beach. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®designation.
Brett and his wife, Deborah, have four adult children. They enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, camping and being with their two dogs. An avid reader, Brett likes history, biographies, espionage and mysteries.
