About David
David Wilson is a Managing Director, Wealth Advisor and founder of The Wilson Group at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. With over 25 years of industry experience, he primarily focuses on providing investment strategies and portfolio management services for high-net-worth individuals, executives of publicly held companies and small business owners. David understands the complex financial needs and the pressures his clients face as they pursue their careers. He provides his clients with a macro perspective to oversee the entirety of their financial pictures, both personal and professional, and works to craft suitable financial decisions on their behalf.
David utilizes a full-service business model, delivering strategies on both sides of the balance sheet. He offers hands-on, tailored portfolios, using his knowledge and capabilities to help mitigate risk and uncertainty. He completes the business model by assisting clients with strategies related to credit, lending, and residential and commercial mortgages, employing the world-class array of financial services available at J.P. Morgan.
David is positioned to present such a range of services, having worked in capital markets prior to private wealth management. His trading backgrounds with a global macro hedge fund and international bank have afforded him insight into the ways in which the financial markets interact. Perhaps more importantly, he gained invaluable experience trading in stressful environments and turbulent markets. Additionally, he differentiates himself through his in-depth knowledge of private equity and real estate, catering to the needs of the high-net-worth investor.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2015, David was an Executive Director, Senior Portfolio Management Director and private equity/real estate professional at Morgan Stanley. Before Morgan Stanley, he was a Portfolio Manager, Investment Specialist and Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and a Vice President at Merrill Lynch. David began his investment career as a trader at the Union Bank of Switzerland and Moore Capital Management, a hedge fund in New York.
David graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics, and is active in the Jason Garrett Starfish Charities and the Princeton Football Association. He lives in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children, Taylor, Brooke and Jake.
