About Spencer
Spencer Strahan is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a partner within The Leaverton Strahan Team, Spencer offers the wisdom and perspective he has gained from guiding accomplished families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations for more than four decades, helping them deploy their wealth with greater insight and effectiveness. He points to a consistent process that grounds his efforts, allowing him to support clients in pursuing meaningful goals through a disciplined approach.
A natural relationship builder, Spencer cares very deeply about the clients he serves, many of whom have become good friends. He looks to help clients pursue sound decisions through balanced advice that avoids market fads or chasing the next new trend. Instead, Spencer offers investment counsel founded on clarity. "Know what you own" is a fundamental tenet of his approach. This transparency, he believes, has helped clients adhere to sound principles of investing designed to advance long-term growth.
Eager to share his knowledge with others, Spencer takes pride in enhancing clients' financial ease, educating the next generation about best practices for responsible stewardship that can facilitate their success. He is proud to have had a significant impact on clients and their loved ones, allowing them to enjoy greater confidence in creating the lives and legacies they envision. "You made a difference" are words that are a touchstone for Spencer, proud of the caliber of clients he has served.
Clients from varied paths have engaged Spencer's assistance, including high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, foundations, businesses and ERISA Plans, including defined contribution and defined benefit plans. Prior to moving to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management with his team in 2023, he was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager with First Republic Investment Management. Earlier, Spencer spent 33 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was a Senior Vice President, Investments. He earned his B.A. in Business and Economics from the University of Puget Sound.
Spencer and his wife, Joanne, have two adult daughters and four grandchildren who make them very proud. In his free hours, he enjoys playing golf and skiing.
