Brian Chinn is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Drawing on more than 25 years of experience, Brian builds lifetime relationships with high-net-worth clients, helping them evaluate their options and accomplish more with their wealth. Individuals and families look to him and his team for integrated financial planning, investing, banking and impeccable service. By serving as a single, reliable source of tailored advice and guidance, Brian provides clients with expanded time in their schedules for their personal and professional priorities. Clients, in turn, gain confidence, knowing their financial affairs are garnering the attention they deserve.
Brian has long believed that if you approach every decision with clients' best interests in mind, everything else will follow. He and his colleagues begin each relationship by listening attentively, taking the time to gain an accurate understanding of each client's circumstances before prescribing any action. Financial planning is a critical building block of their efforts, he notes, likening it to a thorough blueprint before building a home. Brian also emphasizes the team's acumen in tax-sensitive investing, helping clients retain more of their hard-earned wealth.
Brian joined J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023 and has earned national recognition for his work. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Private Wealth Management, where he served for more than 14 years. His background also includes experience as a Financial Planning Consultant with Fidelity Investments in San Francisco. He has worked in wealth management since 1999.
A graduate of the University of Oregon, Brian earned his B.A. in Political Science and Government. Committed to professional excellence, he holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification awarded by the CFP®Board of Standards, Inc. He is also a member of the San Francisco Financial Planning Association.
Originally from the Bay Area, Brian lives in Orinda with his wife and their two children. In his free time, he enjoys staying fit, cheering on his children's sports teams, reading the financial news and traveling with his family
