About Michelle
Michelle Runyon is an Executive Director and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. She serves the investment needs of corporate executives, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals and their families, offering asset management, diversification plans for concentrated assets, risk management, tax minimization, and estate planning to address a broad range of complex financial scenarios.
Applying a defined and goals-based process, Michelle couples sophisticated wealth management capabilities with a personal approach. She listens carefully to determine each client's unique financial situation and develops tailored investment plans and asset allocations that address their individualized objectives. Michelle draws upon the full array of J.P. Morgan's products and services to help clients manage both assets and liabilities. Working closely with clients' CPAs and attorneys, she incorporates estate and tax planning considerations into her strategies.
She feels a deep commitment to help ensure that the totality of a client's assets are integrated and organized into one financial picture and their capital is appropriately invested, which is complemented by her proactive and quantitative style.
With almost 20 years of industry experience, Michelle brings a strong investment and estate planning background to her practice. Most recently, she was a Wealth Advisor at Wells Fargo Private Bank, delivering asset allocation, business advisory planning, risk management, tax and gifting strategies and fiduciary services. Michelle began her career in 1998 at Northern Trust. She spent the next ten years honing her portfolio and wealth management skills at US Trust, focusing on performance analysis, asset allocation modeling and estate planning. Michelle joined J.P. Morgan in 2017 to offer her clients a boutique advisory experience coupled with the robust resources of one of the largest and most powerful financial institutions in the world.
Michelle is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine, where she earned a B.A. in Social Science and was a Dean's Honor List recipient. In 2010, she received her M.B.A in Finance and Marketing from The UC Davis Graduate School of Management and served on the Student Advisory Council.
Active in her community, Michelle is currently a Center Advisory Member for the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center in San Francisco and in the past, was board member of the California Shakespeare Theater and the YMCA of East Bay. She and her husband reside in Orinda with their son and they welcome the opportunity to spend quality time together pursuing outdoor activities. In her free time, Michelle plays golf, runs and skis.
