About Mitchell
Mitchell Weitz is a Vice President and Investment Associate at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a part of The BG Group, Mitch works closely with the team's clients to discern their investment objectives, risk tolerance, time horizons, and lifestyle needs. He and the wealth managers then design tailored portfolios that align with their clients' distinctive parameters. Consultative by nature, he develops deep relationships with clients, walking with them through significant decisions in their lives and wealth so that he can embed that knowledge within his investment selections. Clients look to Mitch as a reliable resource and sounding board who listens attentively, eager to help them navigate the capital markets through a disciplined approach.
Within the team, Mitch has a number of responsibilities including investment research, client portfolio construction, risk management, and client relationship management. He applies the knowledge he has gained from previous roles advising institutional asset managers, sharing his insights to advance the investment objectives of successful individuals and families. Mitch cares deeply about the clients he advises, eager to help them build and preserve generational wealth. He stays closely apprised of market movements, reading widely and leveraging his network of investment professionals so that he can offer clients forward-looking ideas.
Mitch has over two decades of financial services experience. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023, he served as a Vice President and Investment Specialist with First Republic Private Wealth Management. Earlier in his career, Mitch spent more than a decade working for Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Solutions, which was later acquired by Bloomberg LP. During this tenure, Mitch provided strategic guidance on the application of multi-asset portfolio construction, risk management, and performance attribution to the largest institutional asset managers in the United States. His background also includes investment banking experience with Citigroup's Global Industrials Advisory Group. He began his investment career in 1999 with Bloomberg LP, where he gained extensive knowledge of the financial markets.
Mitch earned his B.S. in Business Administration from The College of New Jersey and his M.B.A. in Finance & Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is a CFA^®charter holder awarded through the CFA®^Institute.
A resident of East Bay, Mitch loves to spend time with his wife and their two sons. He also enjoys being outdoors and staying active.
