About Cannon
Cannon Allen is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As one of the founders of The AC Group, Cannon works closely with venture capitalists and other institutional clients to manage the challenges they face in both liquidity and day-to-day management of their firms. He serves as a trusted advisor to clients with complex balance sheets and sophisticated goals.
Cannon started his career in Operations at Merrill Lynch before joining the team at J.P. Morgan to focus on project management and settlements. After several years, he moved on to explore full balance sheet advisory work with wealthy families.
Most recently, Cannon spent time at a fledgling RIA, Jackson Square Capital. In addition to client advisory work, he ran point on building relationships with third-party money managers, tax advisors, attorneys and bankers. As an advisor at a rapidly growing firm, Cannon saw firsthand the hurdles faced by principals and partners in financial services—how to define roles, scale the practice, manage the tech stack and operate in a heavily regulated industry.
During his stint on the buy-side, Cannon found the tools available to advisors who wanted to improve their practice and add value for their clients to be inadequate. In returning to the team, he hopes to act as that resource and offer the depth of his experience— industry connections, an understanding of the rules and regulations and a deep familiarity with his clients' goals and organizational culture.
A native of North Carolina, Cannon is a proud graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a B.S. in Mathematics and Linguistics.
Cannon and his wife have lived in downtown San Francisco for nearly a decade and enjoy exploring all that the city has to offer. In his spare time, he loves puzzles, road trips and any kind of Mexican food.
