About Jon
Jon Bull is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a co-founder of the Alta Group, Jon works closely with high-net-worth individuals, families and institutions, helping them pursue their goals more effectively through integrated investing and wealth management. With more than four decades of experience in the capital markets, he offers the perspective and wisdom to help clients discern what they want to accomplish with their finances, pursuing those objectives through tailored portfolio design, financial planning and wealth transfer.
Jon has particular skill in technical analysis of the U.S. stock market and produces weekly technical-analysis updates to wealth managers throughout the firm. He is also the lead investment technician for his team. Throughout his career, Jon has enjoyed educating clients about the investment markets. Approachable by nature, he looks to enhance clients' understanding of portfolio design so they can gain greater confidence about the overall trajectory of their wealth.
Jon joined J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023 and has earned national recognition for his work. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Investment Management, which he joined in 2002. While at First Republic, Jon co-managed one of the firm's leading equity model portfolios. Earlier in his career, Jon was President and Chief Investment Officer of Starbuck, Tisdale & Associates, a former subsidiary of First Republic Bank. His experience also includes tenures as President and CEO of Santa Barbara Capital Management, formerly Argus Investment Management. Jon was educated at the University of California, Irvine. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of CFA Society New Mexico.
Active in the non-profit arena, Jon is a former Director of the Santa Barbara Zoo, a former Trustee of the Santa Barbara Historical Museum, and is a past National Chairman of the Dream Foundation.
When not working, Jon can be found hiking with his wife, Martha, and their rescue mutt Zuma, skiing anywhere in the world, or in the back country with his riding group, Los Rancheros Visitadores.
