As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Jake employs a comprehensive approach that prioritizes understanding his clients' individualized needs and challenges. He believes fostering strong, trusting relationships is essential to delivering exceptional guidance and developing actionable strategies that help clients pursue their wealth goals. His analytical skills are complemented by a genuine commitment to client success, and he works hard every day to ensure they receive the best guidance possible.
Leveraging nearly a decade of experience in the industry, Jake joined J.P. Morgan in 2024, drawn to the firm's stellar reputation and robust execution platforms. He was previously a Vice President and Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab, where he built a foundation in the challenges and opportunities faced by clients with significant wealth beginning in 2016. He launched his career in 2015 as an Analyst at Credit Suisse.
A passionate advocate for effective wealth planning, Jake is motivated by his own early experiences watching his college savings plan suffer the consequences of inadequate diversification and planning during the 2008 financial crisis. He earned a B.S. in Finance from North Carolina State University while competing on the school's top-10-ranked Division I swim team, a testament to his strong work ethic. In addition to the CFP®designation, Jake earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, demonstrating his knowledge of and ability to apply fiduciary practices in managing corporate 401(k) retirement plans. He holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Jake now resides in Rockville, Maryland with his wife, Erin, and their cat, Archibald. He is active in his community, serving as President of the Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club, where he is involved in charitable initiatives. Jake is an avid golfer and a member of the Lakewood Country Club. He and his wife love traveling, the outdoors and drinking fine wine.
