About Brian
Brian Kelleher is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
In 2023, Brian joined the firm with his colleagues after working with them at First Republic, Merrill and UBS (where he interned in 2011). Brian also spent four years at Ballentine Partners, one of the top multi-family offices in the country where he specialized in working with ultra-high-net-worth founders and entrepreneurs.
In his role, Brian addresses the planning needs of C-suite executives, business owners and wealthy families, helping them navigate the complexities of illiquidity, execute M&A transactions, prepare for life-changing liquidity events, and create family and philanthropic legacies. For clients contemplating a transaction event, he draws on his background as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) to help optimize the value of these one-time opportunities.
Oftentimes, he is the closest confidant of his clients (next to their spouse), acting as a sounding board for many of life's biggest financial decisions. He has a deep background and passion for financial planning and investments, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional.
Growing up, Brian witnessed the result of his family investing too heavily in a single stock. Recognizing the importance of diversification and that he (and others) "don't know what they don't know," he set out to educate himself and pursue a career in which he could educate people and help them avoid common investment mistakes.
Brian graduated magna cum laude from Bentley University with two degrees in Corporate Finance and Accounting and Global Perspectives. He stays actively involved with his alma mater, volunteering on multiple boards and serves as the chairman for the FOLD young alumni board.
A fitness enthusiast who resides in East Boston, Brian works out six days a week and has run three marathons, including two Boston Marathons in 2022 and 2023 with Tedy's Team – honoring his father who died unexpectedly of heart disease. (The team raises money for stroke and heart disease survivors and spreads awareness in the process.) Brian is also passionate about animals. He volunteers with NEADS as a weekend puppy sitter and helps to raise service dogs.
