About Shawn

Shawn Devaney is an Investment Associate at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

Shawn brings clients two decades of extensive portfolio management experience and a deep commitment to act as a responsible steward of their investments. Before joining J.P. Morgan with his colleagues in 2023, he held investment advisory roles at First Republic, Merrill Lynch, UBS (where he spent ten years), and Morgan Stanley (where he launched his career).

Shawn's responsibilities include researching investment strategies, deciding on asset allocation, managing portfolio construction, analyzing portfolio performance, and executing trades.

Recognizing that each client is distinct in their attitudes toward wealth and its purpose, Shawn is diligent in customizing each portfolio to reflect both short-term and long-term objectives. He feels good knowing that his efforts help clients enjoy tangible, real-world results and do the things they want for themselves and others.

Shawn holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation and a B.A. from Johnson & Wales University. Upon graduation, he spent 15 years in the hospitality business and 13 years serving his country as a Search-and-Rescue Coxswain in the U.S. Coast Guard and as an M.P. Officer in the U.S. Army.

Shawn and his wife, Tara Cahalane, make their home in Northbridge, Massachusetts with their four children and standard poodle. High energy inside and outside the office, Shawn is a hiking and kayaking enthusiast.
