About Richard
Richard B. Edge is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
With 28 years of investment experience in both institutional and wealth advisory capacities, Richard provides tailored asset management services for ultrahigh-net-worth families.
Richard works closely with his clients, employing a disciplined discovery process to understand individualized needs and acquire a comprehensive view of the entirety of their financial situation. From these insights, he designs personalized investment portfolios that address targeted goals and objectives.
Originally from Atlanta, Richard earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Southern Methodist University where he graduated magna cum laude and Beta Gamma Sigma.
In 1994, he joined Ernst & Young LLP's Assurance and Advisory Services Group to manage and execute audits of private and public companies. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Richard pursued his interest in financial advisory services and investment management. He accepted a position as Senior Consultant in the Corporate Finance Group, a division specializing in private middle-market investment banking transactions. During this time, Richard earned his Chartered Financial Analyst™ designation. His five-year career with Ernst & Young culminated as a Manager within the Corporate Finance Group charged with leading transaction teams to execute mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, and complex financings.
In 1999, Richard began the pursuit of his M.B.A. and was chosen from a pool of applicants to attend the accelerated four-quarter program at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He graduated with distinction as the co-valedictorian, earning a second recognition to Beta Gamma Sigma and receiving the Dean's Award for Academic Achievement (4.0 GPA). After nine years each with Morgan Stanley and UBS, Richard joined J.P. Morgan in 2017 and is pleased to impart his distinctive institutional and advisory capabilities for the benefit of the team's sophisticated clients.
Richard lives in Roswell, Georgia with his wife, Laura, and two children, Walker and Laurel. When not in the office, he races cars and enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his family.
