Mark Horncastle is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. A member of The Firstman, Horncastle, Cram, Worley Group, Mark serves as the lead on tactical portfolio decisions, internal and external product evaluation, and alternative investments for the team's high-net-worth clients.
For the entirety of his career, Mark has been an active investor in the private equity and hedge fund asset classes. The collective information acquired from long and deep relationships with some of the smartest investment firms and investors of the last 20+ years has given Mark a nuanced understanding and the ability to make informed decisions at an asset class level for the team's clients.
Mark also takes the lead on many aspects of client and team risk management. He feels that one of the greatest commitments he can make to clients is to protect their interests for long-term prosperity through rigid risk controls. His philosophy is that while he cannot control the markets, he can control the level of exposure when clients participate in them. Mark believes that a disciplined and unyielding investment risk management process is an important foundation for long-term business continuity and growth. He is a member of J.P. Morgan Wealth Management' Portfolio Manager Program, a select group of advisors in the firm who have undergone a comprehensive screening and due diligence process to be allowed to manage discretionary client assets.
Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2015, Mark spent 18 years in finance at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette/Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC. He earned his B.A. from Trinity College with a major in Political Science and a minor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Furthering his studies, he earned his M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University, Owen Graduate School of Management, with a concentration in Finance.
Mark lives in South Florida with his wife, Lorena, and three children, Emma, Audrey and George.
