About Margaret
Margaret Liu is an Executive Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Margaret advises ultra-high-net-worth clients on the complexities of wealth and supports them in aligning their estate, financial and investment plans with their legacy goals. Drawing on more than 25 years of experience, she guides individuals and families in bridging and navigating the quantitative and qualitative aspects of their wealth objectives, advancing each client's distinctive vision for the people and causes they value.
Wealth creators and inheritors look to Margaret to help them weigh their options for transferring wealth effectively, mindful of their intentions, philanthropic interests, tax implications, and the technical underpinnings of trust and estate law. Margaret also supports clients in their evolution as stewards of their wealth, supporting them as they prioritize objectives and evaluate possible courses of action.
An attentive listener and active collaborator, Margaret is adept in helping clients formalize their family legacy plans, resulting in greater peace of mind. Her skill in facilitating family meetings, her appreciation for the importance of governance and decision making, and her support for learning and development within the rising generation allow her to play an integral part in shaping the impact of thoughtfully designed plans on future generations.
Margaret earned her B.A. in International Relations from the University of Michigan and her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law. She is a member of the Purposeful Planning Institute and has received the Family Firm Institute Certificates in Family Business and Family Wealth Advising.
Active in her local professional community, Margaret has served on the executive board of the East King County Estate Planning Council (EKCEPC) and the Estate Planning Council of Seattle. She is a strong advocate of the need for financial literacy and volunteers as a financial coach to residents of Eden Hill, an affordable housing community.
Margaret and her husband have two daughters. They enjoy adventure travel in their free time.
