About Phil
Phil Scott is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Phil is the recipient of numerous national accolades, and has worked with ultra-affluent clients throughout his career to help them deploy, grow, steward and transfer their wealth effectively. With more than three decades of direct wealth management and investing experience, Phil advises business owners, senior executives, entrepreneurs and multi-generational families about the opportunities and challenges that significant wealth can entail.
Closely attuned to the capital markets, Phil is a member of the J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Portfolio Manager Program, one of a select group of advisors who undergo a screening process to manage discretionary portfolios, and are subject to ongoing quantitative and qualitative reviews to assess each advisor's investment strategy. His areas of focus include market evaluation and outlook, risk assessment, asset allocation, portfolio design and security selection. He customizes clients' investment offerings to reflect their preferences, time horizons and priorities, including future cash-flow needs, wealth transfer objectives and tax implications.
Phil joined J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023. Previously, he was a Managing Director with First Republic Private Wealth Management—a role he held since 2020. His career also includes many years with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, where he was a Wealth Management Advisor and Managing Director.
Phil's extended tenure in wealth management is paralleled by that of his team members, many of whom have collaborated for more than 25 years. He believes that continuity and consistency are the key underpinnings of an exceptional client experience, and is proud to lead a close-knit team with an ingrained culture of diligence and care, emblematic of the group's desire to exceed expectations.
Phil is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned degrees in International Relations and General Engineering.
Active in philanthropic causes, Phil supports a number of organizations, including Row to the Future, Erg Ed, Pocock Crew, Children's Hospital, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Robin Hood Foundation, The Everglades Foundation and Washington Policy Center.
Phil and his wife, Lesli, enjoy spending time with their three children.
