About William
Bill Coke is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
With over 25 years of financial services and industry experience, Bill focuses on asset allocation, portfolio management and planning for his clients, who include high-net-worth individuals, corporate executives, foundations, endowments and institutions.
He works with his clients to build and customize diverse strategies suited to their specific risk tolerance and consistent with their short- and long-term goals, using a range of asset classes that include fixed income, equities, foreign investments, real estate, commodities and alternatives. Bill also has significant experience in serving middle-market pension plans, money managers, hedge funds and private equity firms, as well as assisting select corporate executives with executing public company control and restricted stock transactions, allowing them to monetize their illiquid holdings.
Bill enjoys the challenges inherent in volatile markets and endeavors to translate this passion to the benefit of his clients, backed by a solid organization with leading research and thought leadership, including J.P. Morgan's vast array of institutional money management services. These internal and third-party managers are subject to extensive evaluations, interviews and in-depth questionnaires in order to provide Bill and his team with the tools they need to help his clients meet their financial needs.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 1991, Bill worked at Shearson Lehman/American Express and General Reinsurance, where he was responsible for evaluating and underwriting commercial property and casualty risks of Fortune 500 companies.
A New England native, Bill grew up in the town of Harvard, Massachusetts, graduating from the University of Massachusetts—Amherst with a B.A. in Business and Finance. As an active alumnus, Bill is a Founding Board Governor of the UMass Club in Boston. Being a strong proponent of education in his community, Bill has also served on the Parents Council of the Brooks School in North Andover, and has served two terms on the Board of Trustees at Lawrence Academy in Groton.
