About McLane
McLane Cover is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
McLane uses a thoughtful and disciplined approach to create bespoke investment recommendations structured to reflect each client's specific goals, risk tolerance and investment preferences. These custom-tailored strategies consider all relevant asset classes and investment opportunities to help navigate diverse economic and market environments.
Over the course of his 35-plus-year professional investment career, McLane has managed portfolios that invested in public equity and debt securities, private equity, venture capital and startups. He joined J.P. Morgan from First Republic in 2023, and as an invaluable member of The Atwood Group, co-chairs the team's Investment Committee and serves as Head of Private Equity Research. McLane is also Portfolio Manager of The Atwood Group's Capital Appreciation equity strategy. Previous roles include his tenure as a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Investment Management, where he was a member of the firm's Asset Allocation and Alternative Investment Committees.
Previously, McLane served as a Private Wealth Manager at Merrill Lynch, and as a Managing Director at both Citigroup Global Markets and Kidder Peabody and Co. He founded Mistral Capital Partners, serving as Chief Investment Officer, and was a consultant to Kohlberg, Kravis and Roberts (KKR).
McLane holds a B.S. in Finance and Investments from Babson College.
Active in his local community, McLane was Treasurer and Chair of the Investment Committee for Beacon Academy in Boston. He also volunteers with the Babson Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program.
