About Dennis
Dennis Murray is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
In 2023, he joined the firm with his colleagues after spending most of his 20-plus year career at BNY Mellon, where he was most recently a Senior Director of Wealth Management.
Client care and consideration are at the heart of the guidance Dennis offers. Since launching his career in 1999, he has delivered a highly personal, planning-based approach informed by his rigorous training as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certificate holder. A devoted team player since his football playing days in college, Dennis provides holistic multigenerational planning and works with his colleagues on cash flow projections, as well as asset allocation, investment and estate planning strategies.
Never one to make assumptions about clients, Dennis makes time to ask questions, "What are your personal and financial goals? How did you get to where you are now? Who are you responsible for? What does money mean to you? And what role would you like us to play?"
Dennis's greatest professional fulfillment comes from the relationships he has nurtured with clients. His ability to hear "what is not being said" and overall emotional intelligence allow him to explore topics with clients that may be sensitive and hard to discuss. These conversations often lead to insights for estate planning, succession planning, and charitable planning strategies.
Dennis holds a B.S.B.A. from Stonehill College, where he played guard on the football team. He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and has long been active in the Scituate community as a youth football and lacrosse coach. In fact, Dennis is the founder and Director of Scituate Flag Football. He is also a member of the St. Mary of the Nativity Parish Finance Council. In his free time, Dennis enjoys skiing and playing golf. He and his wife, Sarah, have three children.
CFP Board owns the marks CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® in the U.S.
