About Michael
Michael Corcoran is a Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
In 2023, he joined the firm with his colleagues after spending most of his career at BNY Mellon, where he was most recently a Senior Director of Wealth Management.
With more than 35 years of industry experience, Michael's financial stewardship and skills have attracted an elite clientele—from active and retired chief operating officers and senior-level banking executives, to successful business owners with little time or interest in managing the intricacies of their wealth.
Focused on the impact of decisions on entire families, Michael has developed close relationships with widows, divorced individuals, and the "next generation" of clients' families—making it a point to educate on wise financial habits and the importance of protecting their legacies. He feels especially proud to help clients experiencing difficult transitions—providing care and consistent attention when they need it most.
Michael's role on the team includes the development of asset allocation and estate planning strategies, as well as portfolio design with an emphasis on core, long-term holdings and the use of tactical overlays.
Michael began his career in mortgage banking. In short order, he looked to address a wider range of clients' needs and set his sights on wealth management. In 1988, he joined the BNY Mellon Wealth Management group where he would later join his colleagues.
A lifetime learner, Michael holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from Bentley University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®(CFA®) designation.
For the past decade, Michael and his twin brother have endowed the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund in memory of their father. Michael and his wife, Julie (a retired attorney), make their home in Walpole, where good times take them outdoors—running and playing golf. Following in their "legal and financial footsteps" are their two children, an attorney and a private equity consultant.
