About Maureen
Maureen Flanagan is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a co-founder of FGF Partners, Maureen provides integrated planning, investing and wealth strategy to individuals and families, helping them pursue their goals with greater confidence. She advises a number of women clients who hail from varied backgrounds. Many are business owners, executives and professionals. Others have undergone a significant transition in their lives, such as the death of a loved one, a divorce or an inheritance. To each of these relationships, Maureen offers the knowledge she has refined over forty years, as well as an empathetic perspective that supports clients in weighing their options and pursuing informed decisions.
Maureen likens her role to that of "a good financial friend." As a fiduciary, she is obligated to put clients' interests ahead of her own, a commitment that yields close-knit relationships founded on mutual trust. Maureen begins each relationship by developing an in-depth financial plan, helping clients gain clarity and organization over the scope of their finances. She also discerns clients' risk tolerance, time horizons, tax circumstances and wealth-transfer intentions, embedding these parameters within her investment approach. An attentive listener, Maureen is a keen proponent of financial education—particularly for women—helping them gain confidence and poise in the management of their financial affairs.
Prior to moving to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management with her team in 2023, Maureen spent 11 years with First Republic Private Wealth Management, where she was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager. Earlier, Maureen served for 17 years at U.S. Trust, most recently as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager. She has also held senior Portfolio Management positions at other Southern California firms.
Maureen earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Southern California and her M.B.A. from California State University at Long Beach. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Charterholder, awarded through the CFA® Institute, and holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designations.
Eager to give back to her community, Maureen serves on the board of directors of SPIN (Serving People in Need) and is a Naturalist and Kayak Tour Leader for The Newport Bay Conservancy. She is also a member of the Orange County Estate Planning Council and the Newport Beach City Arts Commission. Previously, Maureen served as Chair of the Finance Council for the Catholic Diocese of Orange and served on the board of directors for The Christ Cathedral.
Maureen is very proud of her two daughters and their families, which includes her two much-loved grandchildren. In her free hours, she enjoys playing pickleball and golf.
