About Michael
Michael Schanna is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
Michael provides strategic advice and steady leadership to ultra-high-net-worth clients and their families, helping them gain greater confidence in the direction and deployment of their wealth. Throughout his career, he has focused on the distinctive needs of business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as principals in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds. Within institutional circles, he has extensive experience working with the boards and investment committees of private schools and non-profit endowments. To each of these relationships, Michael brings the insight he has gained from direct experience, as well as a committed work ethic designed to make clients' finances simpler, easier and more cohesive.
Michael explains that he and his team are particularly skilled in getting to know clients well, "aligning who they are as people or institutions and what they want their capital to accomplish." The outgrowth of these discussions, he notes, is highly personalized to each client. While investment management is at the core of each relationship, Michael and his colleagues serve as a "financial concierge" for all wealth management needs. By offering a unified vision of intersecting needs, Michael is able to uncover a more efficient pathway to clients' objectives—one that reflects their tax circumstances, risk tolerance, family wealth dynamics and cash flow parameters.
Michael rejoined J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023. A nationally recognized wealth management Advisor, he previously was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Private Wealth Management, where he served for eight years. His experience also includes tenures at Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Credit Suisse. A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, Michael earned his B.S. in Finance with Distinction. He has worked in wealth management since 2001.
Within his community, Michael has enjoyed serving multiple board terms over the span of 10 years for his local Christian church. Currently, he is most actively engaged with his children, their sports teams and the non-profit organizations each supports. He and his wife, Tricia, have two daughters and a son.
