About Anthony
Tony Custodio is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a co-founder of The Rutledge Custodio Team, Tony provides leadership, strategy and advice to an accomplished clientele, helping them gain direction and confidence in the management of their financial affairs. With more than three decades of experience, Tony offers particular depth in investment management, taking the time to design customized portfolios that reflect the distinctive circumstances of each client. A seasoned money manager, he offers the wisdom he has gained from adhering to a disciplined approach, supporting clients in pursuing important goals, such as maintaining their lifestyle, leaving a legacy to future generations, or discerning a path to retirement.
Tony notes that he and his colleagues are skilled in helping clients unify and consolidate complex financial affairs, particularly those with wide-ranging investments in multiple locations. To these relationships, Tony and his team provide structure and clarity, noting possible efficiencies, remedying gaps and eliminating redundancies. Financial planning, Tony explains, is a key component of his team's value. By "bringing it all together through a comprehensive plan," he and his team provide a rational framework to help clients discern what they want to accomplish—and a means to expedite those aims.
Prior to moving to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management with his team in 2023, Tony was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager with First Republic Private Wealth Management. Earlier, he spent 15 years with Merrill Private Wealth Management, most recently as a Senior Vice President, Private Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager. Tony's experience also includes more than four years with Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he was a Senior Investment Counselor. He began his wealth management career in 1994 at Franklin Templeton Investments in its management training program.
Tony earned his M.B.A. from Santa Clara University and his B.S. in Finance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst®designation.
Outside the office, Tony serves on the investment committee of TheatreWorks, a nonprofit organization in Silicon Valley.
A resident of Palo Alto, Tony and his wife, Meredith, have three children each. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, spending time outdoors and traveling.
