About Lucas Newman
Lucas Newman is a Managing Director and Wealth Partner at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.
As a co-founder of The Newman Jones Wealth Management Group, Lucas works closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, senior executives and multi-generational families, helping them gain greater ease in the management of their wealth and supporting them in using their finances wisely. He builds deep relationships with each client and family, serving as a dependable presence who intimately understands what they want to accomplish and helping them pinpoint a more efficient pathway to their intentions.
A strong adherent of wealth planning, Lucas believes in the necessity of a clear and comprehensive framework that provides clients with the perspective and structure to pursue their goals more effectively. He works collaboratively with clients and his team to develop customized asset allocations that reflect a client's wealth-transfer intentions, tax situations, investment preferences, time horizons and cash-flow needs. Lucas's approach is characterized by frequent client interaction and a robust historical memory. He and his team advise a limited number of clients by design, staying in close touch so that they can provide the immediacy and attentiveness that their relationships deserve.
Originally from Montana, Lucas believes that his upbringing has influenced his life in important ways. He looks to take care of others, bringing integrity and reliability to his work, and summoning the best from himself and his team. These principles, he believes, are the same he witnessed in his father, who was a Financial Advisor in Butte—a close-knit community where people looked out for each other.
Prior to moving to J.P. Morgan Wealth Management in 2023 with his team, Lucas was a Managing Director and Wealth Manager at First Republic Private Wealth Management, where he served for more than 12 years. His experience also includes more than ten years with Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he was a Vice President and Investment Manager. Active in wealth management since 1999, Lucas earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
Lucas is a former board member of Outside In. He loves spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Lily. He and his family share a love of the outdoors, including hiking and visiting family in Montana. In his free hours, Lucas also likes to ski and play golf.
